If that is also done for you then that is cheating.
Sure you'd have to look up the sign or you'd have to memorize the signs but If you already knew all of the words for Spanish and English, that doesn't mean you can speak Spanish because there is grammar and syntax and structure. The work is actually translating the grammar and structure of the language correctly which is already done. It's the same as looking up Japanese that is sounded out in English letters instead of symbols. The signs don't always mean the same as the English words and sometimes the gloss sign has a different meaning but it's just as close as we can get. Sometimes you have to change a English word into four or five very different signs in gloss.
